Accomplishments
- Weekly contributor of opinion and analysis to two international politics blogs since 2006.
- Published in Tikkun, New Internationalist, The Hindustan Times, Village Life, The Mountain-Democrat, Chico News & Review, Studium, Folsom Life, and Cameron Park Life.
- Co-founder and executive committee member of the Workers of NOVA Union in Fukuoka, Japan. Wrote the original Articles of Union Formation Agreement and worked closely with the Japanese Labor Standards Commission to assure legal procedures were followed by the union during an organized strike of workers in 2007.
- Served as Director of the Model United Nations Conference – UNDP for the 2005 Las Vegas Conference. Wrote the background guide for the Model UNDP session and advised more than 40 university students on UN procedures, protocol, and diplomatic language.
- Co-published a Model United Nations/Commission on Human Rights paper for a political science journal concerning female development, the rights of refugees, and contemporary forms of slavery (CSU Chico political science journal Studium [PDF] – p. 206).
- Earned the Distinguished Delegate Award at the Model United Nations Conference in Las Vegas in November 2004. Subsequently participated in the International Model United Nations Conference in New York in March 2005 with an elite university team.
